Dear Jalene,
I just saw you and we all had fun. Now a day later sadness strikes. I am feeling so bad for you and your family. Is there anything we can all help you with? I did not know Joshua but I knew his wonderful mom. You are all in my heart. I wish I could do more to ease the sadness and pain. Love, Judy

Dear Trew family;
Thank you all for all your love.. I know first hand that Josh was a wonderful father & in return I know how much ALL of his babies loved their dad. We will forever share Josh’s memory with his children, they will forever grow up knowing him & sharing him with us. May you all find strength and peace during this most difficult time. We’ve been friends for almost 30 years. Our boy’s David and Matthew are the same age right now as when we met. You’ve always been a hard worker whether it’s your job or just helping your friends or family out. Your honesty, good values, love for nature, and readiness to have fun made us the friends we are. Lord knows we had are fair share of fun. We’ve sat around talking hundreds of times whether we were having a few drinks, getting over them, or out fishing. I remember you talking of how your kids are the best thing that’s happened in your life, how proud you are of them and to have them. I’ve learned a lot from you whether its fixing somthing or how to deal with problems that come along. Though you could be a little opinionated and ornery I consider it a privilege and honor to call you my friend. Till we all see you again we’ll miss you dearly. Your friend matt.

Jalene, Chantel, Gilbert Lee Smith IV, Aydin, David and Haley,
We are so sorry for your loss and will be thinking and praying for all of your today.

We loved Josh for the great step dad that he was to our grandson Gilbert and we know that Gilbert loved him.
I remember the stories that Lee would tell us about going to the sand dunes and camping and how much fun they had, the times where Josh would help him with his computer in the basement. We talked the other day about how much fun he had and how much he loved Josh, he is hurting for the loss of a good man and step dad.

Missy (Gilbert’s (Lee) other grandmother)
