Josh was a good friend and a gentle soul. I will miss him. I hope that good memories will help Susan and his family through this difficult time. As long as we have memories of Josh, he will be only temporarily lost to us, as Roy Rogers used to say, “Till we meet again.”

I had a very nice friend while he was at the Dobie Road Care center. I never had a friend that we agreed on in many discussions. The family is very nice also. R I P.

I spent four years in the same company at the Naval Academy with Josh. I remember him as a great company mate, always smiling and upbeat. I felt very fortunate to be his friend, though we did not keep in touch after our midshipman days.

Josh, may God keep you. Or as we said in the Navy, “fair winds and following seas”.

Sadly, I just discovered that Josh passed in 2018. Josh gave me my first shot as a law clerk around 1999-2001 when I attended law school at Michigan State in East Lansing, MI and worked as a part-time law clerk for Josh. I worked with his office manager “Betty” and his Secretary, Pat White. Josh was a kind boss and a good attorney who was willing to teach me the ropes about working in a law office.

I went on to become a Partner at Howard & Howard Attorneys (based in Royal Oak) I’m their Chicago office and now serve as the CFO & General Counsel of a venture capital firm. That said, I will always appreciate that Josh gave me a chance and helped me work my way through law school. I wish I could have reconnected with Josh before his passing and offered my thanks and gratitude. Rest in peace, Josh. Thanks for giving me my first break into the legal profession.
