Even though it’s been many years since I’ve seen or talked to Johnny, I’m saddened to hear of his death. I knew John and his family in Crystal Falls the little town in the UP where we grew up. His father was very giving basketball coach and teacher and one of his sisters was in my graduating class. I regret having lost track of them over time and not having the opportunity to talk with them. I appreciate having his father as a coach and knowing the family. RIP Johnny.

Very saddened to learn of John passing. We shared many times together growing up together in Crystal Falls from kindergarten through our days at Michigan State. Cub Scouts, Little League and High School Baseball, Camp Batawagama camp outs and JV – Varsity basketball. I always admired John and his selflessness in taking care of our friend Howie Tonkin during Howie’s recovery from the removal of a brain tumor. John watched over and assisted Howie for a number of years prior to Howards death. His tireless efforts to promote and bring attention to the growing number of missing children over the years is a testament to his dedication of locating these missing children and love of his son Christopher. Perhaps now, John will find the answers to his many questions and be at peace. Rest in peace John, may the grace of our Lord be with you now and forever. My most sincere condolences to Tonnie and Johns’ family.
