John Howard May

Holt, Michigan.

Born May 31, 1967, in Lansing, Michigan, son of Joseph and Carol (Weaver) May, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at age 54.

John graduated from Holt High School where he enjoyed playing basketball, was an avid MSU basketball and football fan, and an avid frisbee golfer.  He enjoyed working with children and had worked for Griff & Vicki’s Daycare in Holt and also worked with autistic children at North Elementary for years.  John also worked at Nottingham, a care center for Alzheimer’s patients.

John is survived by his life partner of the last 28 years, Jennifer Warren; his mother, Carol May; brother, Randy May; sisters, Amber (Josh) Hong, Brandi Rowen, and Elizabeth (Marty)Pontius; niece, Zachary Hong; nephew, Angel Hong; Niece, Alita (Caleb) Eubanks; nephew, Logan Pontius; along with many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph May and his brother, David Scott May.

A private family service will be held.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions, in John’s memory, to the Autism Society or the American Lung Association.

I m very sorry to hear about John’s passing, he was a Tennant in the same building i lived and he and Jennifer were wonderfull friends..
I wil miss him coming over. May he rest in peace and his memory be eternal. My deepest condolences to Jennifer and his family.

John and I go way back, I met him through his brother David. You always hear “what a nice guy” he was. Truly, John lived up to this. Just a great loving soul who always treated others with upmost respect. I will have a special place in my heart for him. Love ya bro, see you on the other side.

John meant so much to me! He was such a good big brother to me. I will miss him dearly!!! One of the greatest men I had the pleasure of knowing!
