To the Flaherty Family: I was lucky enough to have known and worked with Jo Flaherty at the City of Lansing. May your cherished memories of this beautiful lady bring you comfort and may knowing that she is in God’s loving embrace give you peace.
Oh my beautiful sister. I will miss you so much and seeing all your beautiful drawings on facebook. We was just talking about Thanksgiving at your house. Words can’t describe the hurt I’m feeling inside but I know your no longer in pain or no longer suffering. When you see mom give her hugs for me and tell her how much I love and miss her. This hurt more than you know but I know God had plans for you. You will be so missed by so many until we meet again one day. I love you so very much.
Your sister was such a fantastic person. She worked hard, laughed a lot, and loved so much, her entire family. What she gave to others was a gift. I hope you know that along with my 6 siblings (the Buffa’s) there are so many fond memories of Jo and she definitely will be missed. My mom and your Aunt Elaine, went to heaven October 5, a month ago. I am sure she is there along with her sister Beverly, (Jo and your Mom,) welcoming Jo. I pray for comfort to find you, and many happy memories to replace the pain. This is but a short note, but remember so many people feel so bad for you. We all send our love and peace to you. I hope you feel it.
Jo was such an incredible artist, teacher and inspiration for myself and for so many. How unbelievably hard it was to learn she had passed …… oh how she will be missed. It has been an honor to have called Jo “friend.”
My deepest condolences to all of Jo’s family and friends. She was a treasure among women.
I so enjoyed knowing Jo. Not just her beautiful artwork, but talking about family, and lots about food. Jo would explain how she made incredible meals and encourage me even though I can’t cook.
I’m very sorry for your loss, she will be missed.
Tim – you already know that Jo was one of one of my favorite people!! Her no nonsense, straight to the point approach was one I welcomed in City Hall as most just told you what you wanted to hear. But it was after City Hall when we became good friends and when we nursed each other through some challenging times. I’ll never forget that friendship!! Charlie
