Annabel-Dennis Palmer of Mercy informed us of the untimely passing of Jeremiah. We are so saddened by your loss. Jeremiah was an outstanding EMT, we know from personal experience. He was so good with treating my husband back in Nov. I can only extend my prayers for you and your family and pray that God will hold you close to His heart during this time and always.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Although I never met the young man, I have met some of his family at the Grand Ledge Farmer’s Market, where I buy their food, and at their little Tex-Mex restaurant. My heart goes out to his girlfriend Danielle also. What a tragic loss. Nobody should ever have to bury a grandchild.

There are no words humanly possible to heal the wound of loosing a child, grandchild, brother at way too young of an age. Jeremiah, Joshua, and Elijah were joys to have in class. I’m so thankful of the time I got to spend with each of them at Lyons over the years. I know how blessed they are to have such amazing examples in their lives from their parents and grandparents because you were all active and there. Jeremiah was that happy, at times shy and quiet, other times giggly and silly boy in my class who I loved to share time with. Your legacy of faith and loved lived through him as it does through Josue and Elijah. I’m so thankful that I’ve stayed in touch with you all and have gotten to hug your boys as they’ve grown into incredible young men of God. My heart aches for you. Continued prayers that God’s love is ever-present to each one of you and peace for Danielle as she begins to find healing through such loss. You are a beautiful family whose faith and love shines through.

On behalf of Mercy Ambulance Service and our great team of associates we offer our deepest sympathy to the entire Diaz family. It grieves us to think that one of our very own has fallen to the grips of tragedy . It truly doesn’t feel real that Jeremiah is no longer with us! Jeremiah put so much effort to train and serve others in their greatest time of need. He will be missed!

Dear Annabel & Joshua, my sincere condolence to you and your family for the loss of Jeremiah! I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to know him, he had a special charisma about him and his zest for life radiated to others around him! His laugh was contagious and his smile automatically made you smile, and no matter what he tried to look at the positive in things! (We all know we needed that during those long baseball seasons) He was definitely wise beyond his years and will deeply be missed! I will forever be thankful to you for raising such a wonderful young man; who reached out at such a crucial point in my sons life, who took the time to mentor; be such a great friend, roll model and stand in big Brother and for that I’ll always be great fun and will never forget him! I will continue to pray or your family during this difficult time and days to come.

Josh Annabel Josue Elijah – Of all the things going through my mind right now, I think more than anything I want to say this: I believe Jeremiah had a smile for everyone that crossed his path in life. He was so easygoing and respectful, he was a joy to coach and I am so proud to have coached hil in the Moose baseball program. For all the wonderful things that could be said about this wonderful boy, it is so obvious that he is a product of a strong extended family culture, with love and morals and strong work ethic everywhere he looked. He left us early but not before he left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Miah,

Today was the day man. Been a while since I’ve seen you. Last time was at delucas. You were behind the counter when my wife and I came in and gave me a hug. It was nice seeing you. You made our cousin Danielle so happy. I told my wife the day we saw you guys at the fiesta Danielle had a good man. I always knew you as a great guy, teammate and the brother. We will miss you out on the field, seeing you around every once in awhile. You were a great friend. True leader. I’m thankful to have gotten to know you. You had a beautiful ceremony today and saw so many people who loved you, rest in heaven.

Say hi to the lord for me as well.

THE SCRUGGS’ FAMILY,

I can still see and remember all three of their handsome smiles and how they loved football! This is where we all met–Eastern’s Little League. Shayne and Josue played together. Our families celebrated together and the boys spent nights with one another….these are the memories we will always cherish. I hope that these type of memories will bring smiles to your faces and give your hearts relief as it has our family. God “loans” us his angels and then he asks for them back to serve him in bigger and greater things for his calling. Jeremiah is doing God’s work and he’s making you prouder than you can ever imagine! Stay strong, because that’s what you taught Jeremiah, Josue and Elijah. Your entire family has done exactly what God wanted you to do. You followed God’s words and taught all of your young men to be outstanding, lovable, respectable and God-fearing young men. Now let God do his work with him! All of our love, hugs and prayers are forever with you………..

I worked with Jeremiah on the ambulance and he was an outstanding EMT. It breaks my heart that he passed. He is still greatly missed and I still think of him often. One night we were attacked by a patient in the back of our ambulance on the way to the hospital. Jeremiah bravely helped me wrestle him down to the cot and helped prevent anyone from getting injured including the patient. That was the type of guy he was, to someone in need. My deepest condolences to his family. You will always continue in my thoughts. Austin Ewers
