Jennifer Sue Shroeger, 75, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026. Born in London, Ontario, Canada, on August 13, 1951, to Helen M. Hanley (Harrington Gill) and James B Harrington.
Jennifer’s 31-year career with UPS started in 1979. After spending 9 years as a package car driver, her perseverance, communication skills and award-winning results propelled her up the Corporate ladder until retiring in 2010 as Vice President/COO of the Michigan District.
Jennifer is survived by her husband of 42 years, William Shroeger; her daughter, Jessica R. Malcolm; and her grandchildren, Chelsea, Robin, Hayden, and Dylan. She is also survived by her sisters, Laura Campagna, (Gino) Sylvia O’Connor, (Dennis); her brothers, Richard and Doug Harrington; brother-in-law, David Shroeger; “second” family, Hector, Nadia Acosta and their 3 children; and many nieces and nephews.
Jennifer was a truly remarkable woman. She was strong, independent, talented, determined, loving, and truly one of a kind. She had a natural ability to do just about anything she put her mind to—and do it exceptionally well.
She had a passion and talent for so many things. Cooking, decorating, organizing and gardening. She became a certified Master Gardener through Michigan State University, and gardening was one of the many ways she expressed her creativity and love for the world around her. Whether she was preparing a meal, decorating her home, tending to her garden, or taking on a new project, Jennifer had a gift for making everything beautiful.
Her love for travel allowed her to experience life on 6 different Continents. With her unique ability to engage people she opened doors to lasting memories and friendships wherever she went.
She loved her four-legged gardening companions Ezra and Stella, losing both earlier this year.
A private memorial service celebrating Jennifer’s life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made online to the Michigan Region of the American Red Cross or Cristo Rey East Campus Clothing Closet, 1717 N. High St., Lansing, MI 48906.
Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Jennifer was such a wonderful friend. She was very generous, kind, accomplished and funny. She had such an incredible career. She excelled at retirement too. She became a Master Gardener and she and Bill sure had beautiful gardens!
Our book club will never be the same without Jennifer. We’ve all become so close and we feel this loss deeply.

I have had the pleasure to have known her since late 60’s when a large group went on canoe trips together. She was very successful in her business career and with her beautiful landscaping around their home. She will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. RIP.-
