Janet Elaine Bashore

Dimondale, Michigan

Janet, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully March 9, 2025 at the age of 91.  She was born in Lansing, Michigan on November 28, 1933, to Ulo and Evelyn Forsyth and was a devoted wife to Paul Bashore for 46 wonderful years.

Janet was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School and worked as a secretary for Michigan State University where she received a “Distinguished Service Award.”  She enjoyed camping and loved to travel to new places.  Her happiest moments were spent with family and friends at the family cabin on the Muskegon River.

She is survived by her children, David Alan (Jayne) Bashore, Debra Ann DeHaan, and Nancy (Thomas) Hills, her seven grandchildren, Michael (fiancée Christin Canter) Bashore, Amy (Cameron) Salt, Thomas Bashore, Alyse (Vincent) Pagano, David (Erin) DeHaan, Matthew Hills, and JonPaul (Amanda) Hills; five great-grandchildren, Peyton and Reagan Bashore, Olivia Canter, Olivia and Sara Pagano; brother, John (Gretchen Duerr) Forsyth, sister, Judy (Forsyth, Pilgrim) Potts, and many nieces and nephews and other family members.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and parents.

A celebration of life will be held at Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, 2121 N. Cedar St., Holt, MI, on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 12 Noon.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.  The family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until Noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Michigan or The Porches of Gaylord (435 Murner Road, Gaylord, MI 49735).
