Jane J. Simmon

Age 86, of Holt, passed away peacefully at home December 18, 2011.  She was born February 19, 1925, in San Francisco, a daughter of George and Jennie Huelse.  Jane met the love of her life while working at the USO during WWII.  She married Carl in 1945.  They enjoyed golf and bowling, and she was a loving mother and excellent seamstress.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Simmon, Sr.; son, Carl L. Simmon, Jr.; her parents; brother, Allen Huelse; and sister, Marion Bevington.  Surviving are:  2 daughters, Joanne (Steve) Stansfield of Layton, UT and Doreen (John) Pavlik of Mason; daughter-in-law, Beverly Simmon of Ft. Worth, TX; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; nephew, Jim (Renee) Bevington; and niece, Jeanne (Harold) Immekus.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, with Pastor Bob Carpenter, Jr. of Cedar Street Church officiating.  Interment will follow in Maple Ridge Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.  Jane’s family wishes to express a special thanks to Diane Roberts, the caring staff at Green Acres Retirement Center in Mason, and the staff at McLaren Home Health and Hospice.  Memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice in memory of Jane Simmon.
