My heart is filled with sorrow upon hearing the news of your husband’s passing. My dear friend, Jim (Telfer), often spoke lovingly of his uncle and aunt in Michigan. My prayers and most sincere condolences go out to you and your family.

My only comfort is that Jim is at rest…He’ll be missed greatly. The Lock/Locke Reunions will never be the same. It was always a pleasure talking with Jim, he was down to earth and smart and interesting. Heaven has gained a great one!! Our sincere condolences to Jim’s family and friends!!!

Dear Jim Lock Family Members,

Janet and I wish to extend our deepest sympathies to you, Joyce, and all members of the Lock family on the loss of Jim. He was a wonderfully talented guy who set the bar high for members of your family. He was always cheerful and a very, very helpful individual.

Now it is a challenge for all of you to remember him fondly and live up to his high expectations. Just look at your delightful family and all your lifetime achievements with him. He left an unforgettable mark on this world. It is a better place because he was here, and he did all he could do to make it finer place for all of us.

May Our Dear Lord bless you, Joyce, and all your family members at this time of profound sorrow!

Dear Joyce and Jessica, it with a saddened heart we send our condolence to you. Jim was a great cousin and we’ll all miss his humor, great smile, digging into our genealogy and giving the welcome at the Lock/Locke reunions. We will carry on the tradition but with an empty chair that can never be filled. He was one of a kind. God threw away the mold after he was born as there could never be a duplicate. He’s in Heavin organizing all those Lock/Locke relatives he couldn’t find here on earth. Jim crossed over that river where we will meet again one day. We hold you in our thoughts and prayers.

Joyce and Jessica,
My heart breaks to hear of Jim’s passing. He was such wonderful man, always so full of joy, always sharing that joy with everyone around him. I have many great memories of the three of you and my family together… Years ago when you would come to our house to ride horses. The “city boy” Jim would call us “country folk” and joke about our country ways (all in fun). I remember when the three of you came with my parents to visit me at my dorm when I left to go to college and we took a walk together through my new campus. I thought it was so special that you would travel all the way to Big Rapids to see me at FSU. So many beautiful memories with Jim, Joyce and Jessica! In recent years, we haven’t been together nearly as often, but when we were, our relationships flowed easily as if there hadn’t been a gap at all. I will miss Jim dearly. My prayers are with you, Joyce and Jessica. With love always, Bobbi Westfall (Bolyard)

What a tragedy! We are still in shock. Sixty-six is way too young to leave this world. Your family is going to miss you terribly. It’s hard to believe that we will no longer see you with your beaming smile and your infectious laugh. It is with much sorrow that we say good-bye, but we feel fortunate to have known you for so many years.

I am truly sorry to learn of Jim’s passing. He was too young to leave this green earth. I am his 5th cousin, once removed. His diligence in researching Locke family history was outstanding, and he will be sorely missed by all. My condolences to Joyce and his children and grandchildren.
