James B. “Jim” Hoffman
James B. Hoffman “Jim” 89 years old, of Holt, passed away February 14th 2022. He was born in Lansing on October 30th, 1932. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Mary Lou, along with his sons Mark (Teri Lyn) Hoffman, Kevin (Paulette) Hoffman, and daughter Robbyn Hoffman. Jim is also survived by his grandchildren Joshua Hoffman, Andrew (Amanda) Hoffman, Justin (Michael) Hoffman, and Tyler (Madelyn) Hoffman, as well as three great-grandchildren, Ashton, Adrian and Julien. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Jim was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was also proud to be an Eagle Scout. He loved animals, and along with his wife, passed this love down to his children. Always warm hearted and quick with a smile, Jim made friends wherever he went. Known to his family and friends as the “King of the one-liners”, Jim was a “man of few words” but all of his words counted, and many times those words were funny. Jim was a welder by trade, but also a jack-of-all trades. His ability to fix almost anything in addition to top quality home improvements was truly impressive. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church of Holt, 2021 N. Aurelius Rd. Following the service, there will be a fellowship gathering at Charlie’s Bar & Grille, 1957 Cedar St., in Holt.

February 28, 2022 at 5:07 pmMy thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. Aunt Mary Lou…I hope you know how special you and Uncle Jim have always been to me. Even though much time would pass, I was still always thinking of you two and will never forget how kind and thoughtful you were and I knew that even if only for a brief time talking with you both, I was always going to leave with a smile on my face. Uncle Jim will be missed…May God comfort you and help you heal in your time of need.
