James D. Drushel

Age 89, of Lansing, MI, passed away June 6, 2021, in Lansing. He was born November 15, 1931, in Pioneer, Ohio, to the late Harley and Nell (Reeves) Drushel.

James was employed for 35 years with General Motors working in the Oldsmobile Engineering Department. While working for GM he loved his time as a test driver at the Milford Proving Grounds and in Arizona. He had a passion for cars, loved to travel, go camping and had a great respect for guns. James and his wife Beverly were always busy helping others. They were also the first to arrive to help family/friends in need of an extra hand. James loved projects and woodworking, big or small if you could think it, he could build it.  His greatest passion was for his love of family.

He is survived by his children: Amy Jo (Kevin) Jorae and Kevin Drushel; grandchildren: Chad, Johnathan, Destinee, Dakotah, and Josh; step-granddaughters: Jessica and Allaura; great-grandson, Max; siblings: Donald (Virginia) Drushel, Carolyn Gavin, and Stan (Rosemary) Drushel; sisters-in-law: Margaret Kirchen and Donna Yeoman; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by Beverly Ann “Grandma Easy” his wife of 50 years.

There will be funeral service held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2021, at Redeemer Church, 13980 Schavey Rd., DeWitt, interment will follow in Glendale Cemetery, Okemos. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Diabetes Association.  Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. www.EstesLeadley.com
