James A. McLain

Age 87, of Lansing, passed away on October 2, 2010.  He was born in Lansing on March 23, 1923.

He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific, and was a Pearl Harbor survivor.  He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, a Church Usher, and an officer of the Resurrection Parish St. Vincent de Paul Society.  Jim was associated with Alexanian Rugs for over 50 years, and was formerly with Hager-Fox Co.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ruth in 2005.  Surviving are his son, James H. (Anne) McLain of Santa Rosa, CA, several cousins, and an aunt.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the Church of the Resurrection, 1505 E. Michigan Ave., with the Rev. Fr. Pancratius Kerketta as Celebrant.  The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Resurrection.
