Jacquelyn Mae Howard

Jacquelyn Mae Howard, age 96, of Clearwater Florida died April 9th, 2024 at Bellair Care Facility, of natural causes.

On January 4th, 1928 she was born in Lansing , Michigan the daughter of the late John Schlosser and Leah Margaret Grover. On November 4th, 1976, she married Vernon Howard in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they shared 47 years of marriage.

Survivors include: Sons, Darrin (Becky) Howard, and Eric (Karen) Howard, and daughters Amy (Dennis) Ward, and Marlene Taylor, grandchildren Amber, Jalene, Riley, Mitchel (Jennifer), Victoria, Justin, Stephanie, and Brandon, and Jaime (Chad). Great grandchildren Vaeda, Austin, Chris, and Charley.

She was preceded in death by: Husband Vernon Howard, parents John and Leah Schlosser, sister Maryanne (Dewayne), and son Roland (Peggy) Henderson.

She worked as a piano player at Kresses Dime Store before college, and after Jacquelyn graduated from ACME Business College and took some classes at LCC, she was a bookkeeper and executive legal secretary for 19 ½ years at Delhi Charter Township.

She was a devoted Christian and worshiped at Holt United Methodist. She also has attended a United Methodist church in Clearwater, Florida as well.

Jacquelyn, born in Lansing, moved to Rochester Hills for several years. Then moved to Adrian, Michigan where her and Vernon raised their 2 boys. After Vernon retired they moved to East Lansing where they spent winters in Clearwater, eventually staying in Clearwater for the rest of their years.

Jacquelyn loved her family, cooking, piano, bowling, cards, and crafts with family and friends.

Jacquelyn’s proudest achievements were raising her children, being a loving wife and receiving awards for being a volunteer, as a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary.

What made Jaquelyn unique was her very spirited personality. She knew what she wanted in life. She was extremely bright, and her memory was better than most, even during her last days. She loved her husband, her family and friends with a fierceness one was honored to be a part of. We will love and miss you always. Thank you for all that you have taught us.

Her family will meet at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., where they will process to Maple Ridge Cemetery for a combined graveside service for her and her husband, Vernon Howard.
