Jack Scott Snoor
Holt, MI
Jack passed away on March 26, 2018. He was born July 27, 1955, in Lansing, MI. He attended school in Muskegon and graduated from Waverly High School in 1974, lettering in several sports. He was also a state record-holding pole vaulter.
Jack worked for Farm Bureau Insurance for the past 21 years, never missing a day. He had several hobbies including shooting sports and reloading, and two of his prized restorations were his 1972 Monte Carlo and Yamaha Enticer snowmobile.
Being with family and friends was always a priority of Jack’s, always thinking of others first, and himself last! If you were to ask him what his greatest achievement in life was, he would reply “his children,” Shawn Snoor and Shelby Snoor-Putnam. He never missed a game or a cheer competition or any school event including his son’s Ferris State football games.
Jack leaves behind to cherish his memory: his children, Shawn (Danielle) Snoor and Shelby (fiancé Stephen Poirier) Snoor-Putnam; his mother, Patricia Walton and stepfather Dave; sister, Laura (Kevin) Soule; nephew, Karl (Melissa) Soule; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Snoor, and his infant brother, Steven Snoor.
Jack will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. His family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. on Friday before the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you please make donations to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or a charity of your choice in Jack’s name.

I don’t have to tell you home much your dad cared and loved you both. There are things parents don’t say to relatives, but do to friends.
Your father is the TV dad from the 50s and 60s when it comes to you both and the sun rose and set in each of you.
Never a disappointing word was ever expressed and he could talk about you both for hours. He will be greatly missed by all including me but just remember as when Kathy passed We all made a pack to not say good bye but to say
We Will See You Soon! So I know we will see him again !
I see your dad in both of you, so look into the mirror deeply and the eyes looking back at you are that of your father’s reassuring you the he is with you! And remember he is forever with you looking over your shoulders
Your dad’s lost brother

March 27, 2018 at 5:19 pmI went to Waverly with Jack. We became good friends. We played some sports together. He was a good athlete. Good at everything he did… Jack was a Great Pole Vaulter in track!…A record setter, and medal winner. I even took a trip to Muskegon with Jack once and met some of his school friends from Muskegon Reeths Puffer where he went before Waverly. He had a lot of friends. Also met some of his relatives in Muskegon. I Also remember his parents were very nice people. Great family!…I use to “double-date” a lot with Jack. We would cruise around in his blue Mustang and he would play Al Green on the eight track. To this day I can’t hear Al Green, see a late model Mustang, or see a Pole Vault pit… without thinking of Jack. Sorry we lost him!…You were always a class guy Jack! I trust you’re in paradise brother!…My condolences to his family!…..Dan Kuchuk

March 27, 2018 at 9:15 pmJack was a great friend. Always making me laugh and cheering me up when I needed it the most. He was an amazing friend and coworker. I will never forget meeting you when you worked for Abra Auto Body and I talked you into coming to Farm Bureau. Oh the crazy conversation we got into with Gary…We had so much fun. We have been great friends for the last 20+ years. I have watched your kids grow up and you made room in your heart for Nicole. She truly had respect for you. My heart breaks every time reality hits me that you are really gone. We just talked Friday afternoon. I got my usual hug goodbye and the kiss on top of my head. I still can hear you laugh. Your amazing Jack and heaven has received a great man. You truly loved your kids more than anything. Such a proud dad. Car shows will not be the same. You have so many friends that have cried tears and brought back memories as we cried. Shelby and Shawn, if you need anything just let me know. Just keep the memories close to your heart. He will always be with you. And Jack…I love you from the bottom of my heart. Rest in heaven. 4ever in my heart, until we meet again.

March 28, 2018 at 6:32 amMy brother Jack,
Brother we have know each other for over 35 years, from dating Karen, to the birth of your first Shawn and then Shelby. I have been there for it all and then some but through it all the only priority in your life was the kids. You are the “poster dad” of fatherhood! I am proud to say that were are not friends but Brothers til the end. You have been there as well for me and my family, and in my darkest days took me by the hand and lead me through it all.
You are and always will be with each and every one of us, for whom you touched it life. You are the definition of Friend, always there to lend a hand, or an ear to listen. You and I have had many talks about this time in life and I am here to say that after these past few day you have no idea how many life that you have touched nor just how much you Are Loved!
I miss you as all do, but I truly believe that you are the Big Brother I never had and would never trade for a thing.
Rest now my brother for you are longer in any pain!
And also know that I will always bee there for Shawn and Shelby for they are My nephew and niece as my children were to you.
I will not say goodbye but I say We Will See You Later!
Love You Bro

March 28, 2018 at 4:15 pmShelby and Shawn, I am so sorry for you loss and know you have a huge whole in your heart with his passing. Your dad was so proud of you both. Your father and I were friends for 45+ years, and even when we hadn’t connected for years, when we did we would just start off from the last time we saw each other. He was the same person at 18 as he was now. He was truly a super person, good athlete, kind, compassionate, always fun to be around and will be missed by so many people. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

March 30, 2018 at 9:45 amMom, Laura, Shawn & Shelby,
Everyone who ever met Jack had a friend for life. It never mattered the amount of time that passed between when we saw each other, he always greeted me with a hug, kiss and of course his huge smile. The world lost one of the good guys.
Jack, Give dad a hug from me, rest in peace.
Love you all
Diane
