Irmi Deromedi

Lansing, MI

On March 2, 2018, Irmaleen “Irmi” Deromedi entered into the blessed rest of heaven. She was 88 years of age.

Born in Licking, Missouri on May 23, 1929, her parents John and Irene Trolinger raised Irmi to know the value of love – for family, for friends, and for her Lord Jesus. During high school, she met the love of her life, William “Bill” Deromedi. They were married on August 5, 1950, and shared 67 years of marriage together. They moved to Lansing, where they raised three daughters, Karen, Kathy, and Kim. Irmi embodied that love in all she did. Her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit were a constant witness to her faith, and in every situation she had a word of comfort and grace. She will be dearly missed.

Irmi will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bill and their children, Karen Kalmbach (Steve), Kathy Starkweather (Dave), and Kim Ford. Irmi’s memory will also live on in her grandchildren, Steven Kalmbach (Nicole), Kimberly Kenimer (John), Jennifer Ford, William Starkweather, and Benjamin Ford (Courtney), as well as her great-grandchildren Ryan Starkweather and Mason Kenimer.

Irmi was laid to rest in a private family service. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing, with the Reverend Paul Lindloff presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Irmi’s memory to Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church for the radio broadcasting ministry. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Irmi blessed so many people with her faith and kindness. She loved my family as if they were her own. Praying that you’ll find comfort in your memories of her and in the knowledge that others are missing her, too.
