Hector Velez

Age 86, of Portland, MI, passed away August 10, 2017. He was born September 17, 1930, in Yauco, Puerto Rico, to Jose and Alejandrina Velez. Hector was a veteran of the Korean War. He lived most of his life between New York and Puerto Rico, and spent his final years in Michigan. He studied to be an accountant, but worked as a cab driver and truck driver, among other things. His main occupation was to make sure his family had all that they need, no matter what.

He is survived by his wife, Brunilda, of Puerto Rico; children, Barbara (Jorge) Vallejo, Hector (Sarah) Velez; and grandchildren, Angelo Lopez, Isabella Velez, and Arriettie Velez.
