Gordon L. Wright
Gordon L. “Butch” Wright, age 85, of Holt, MI, joined Jesus and his parents in heaven on November 30, 2022. He was born on November 8, 1937, in Lansing, MI, to Gordon C. and Leota Wright.
Gordon attended Eastern High School in Lansing, and after graduating, attended both Wheaton College and Spring Arbor College, where he majored in Math and Music. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army, and spent a year in Germany. Following his discharge, he was hired by Honeywell Corp. and transferred to Nebraska, where he oversaw three of their offices. He later joined the U.S. Postal Service, working for several years in Nebraska, and after 25 years, returned to Holt to care for his parents.
Gordon loved music, and started playing the piano at an early age. As an adult, he led the local Youth For Christ Choir in the Lansing area, and attended South Church. He loved sports, especially racquetball, and still played into his 80s. He loved his family and friends, and liked to tease. He was tenderhearted, and loved animals, especially German Shepherds (including his beloved “Maylee”) and his cats.
He was loved by his sister, Cheryl Wright of Holt, who will miss him greatly.
There will be no public service, but your ongoing prayers are appreciated. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.
