Gerald K. “Gerry” Outman
Age 80, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away September 27, 2021, in Lansing, Michigan. He was born October 21, 1940, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to the late Bernard and Dorothy (Siefke) Outman.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Leo (Janet) Outman and Bernard (Kay) Outman.
Gerry is survived by Earl D. Bowland, his partner/husband of 32 years; his brother, Richard (Amy) Outman; plus several nieces and nephews.
Gerry was raised and lived in Bellevue, Michigan, for over 50 years. Gerry and his husband Earl lived in Charlotte, Michigan, and also Cape Coral, Florida, for a combined 32 years.
He worked for 30-plus years in production at the Battle Creek Enquirer. Gerry enjoyed horses and loved his Great Dane, Bessie. He also served his country in the Army National Guard.
Gerry and Earl enjoyed driving throughout the United States, Canada and visiting many National Parks. They also enjoyed an extensive social life, especially on their boat in Florida. Gerry was a very kind and generous friend to everyone.
There will be a celebration of Gerry’s life in the Lansing area the summer of 2022. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Online condolences may be left for his family at www.EstesLeadley.com.

I will always cherish the times I spent with him and Earl at their lovely Cape Coral home and the time they visited me in the San Francisco Bay Area. Gerry was a genuinely kind and gracious man. October 4, 2021 at 8:06 pmGerry was a kind and easy going man. We have enjoyed his and Earl company for many, many years. Our visits to their home were always relaxing and fun. We have enjoyed many meals together and enjoyed many games of rummy cube. We have enjoyed taking boat rides in the canals in Cape Coral. We have so many fond memories of Gerry. He will be greatly missed. He will always be in our hearts. Our sincere condolences to Earl and the Outman family. May he rest in peace with our love.
