Georgia A. Smith

Sep. 15, 1921 – Aug. 9, 2021. Mom spent her happiest years with the love of her life, Larry Smith, the lanky little boy from around the corner, until Nov. 19, 1999. They married Nov. 3, 1940, then mom bravely followed him to NYC, as he trained for the Pacific Theatre. They spent 59 years together, raising their family, traveling, and shopping. During this time, Mom found that she loved hotels and camping!

I learned late in life that she loved watching me work with and ride my horses, she was proud. Georgia Smith (Jakovac) was an outstanding, beautiful woman, in so many ways, and my best friend. I miss our conversations and that sparkle of mischief in her eyes. I look forward to seeing my mom again in the resurrection. Mom, Dad, and Michael, all together again and forever.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzette Randall (Smith); Katie B. Northrup (Dykstra); and Puppy Yaga.

A private interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Capital Area Humane Society. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Mr and Mrs Smith were such great people and neighbors. I have fond memories of Mrs Smith from my childhood. Even though I live in a different town, I will never forget her kindness, listening ear and pleasant nature. Rest In Peace, Mrs. Smith. I personally will miss you and will never forget you.

A great lady who was such a positive influence on others. Always a warm smile and a wonderful heart. The Lord has truly gained an angel.

I’am so glad I got to meet up with Georgia a couple of years ago. I no longer live in the Lansing area. If I did I would have made a point to visit her. Lovely Lovely lady. Rest In Peace.

A lovely lady used to see her often when I worked and lived in the neighborhood. A wonderful family member when the matriarchs of the family are gone it makes it quite sad. Her and Larry Mom and Dad can dance up a storm now. Love to all Tammy Jakovac (Paquette) George and Helen’s youngest.
