I have many memories of my Uncle Gene. To me he was a Sample family icon. He always took the time to tease in his way and when we were older give his advise in the kindest way. I can see the face he made and his manor while teasing or telling a story in my minds eye now. It makes me smile. He was known to be helpful to my mom ( his sister ) in other ways at just the right time. Thanks Uncle Gene and Aunt Marilyn. He was a big man with a kind soul. I loved family reunions with him and the watermelon seeds. I will miss him.

Hello Lori and Sherri! So sorry to hear about your father, but it looks like he had a nice, long life. I was logged into Estes-Leadley and before I looked at the name, I saw the picture and said, that looks like Lori Sample from Cumberland Elementary School! Lo and behold it is your dad! Hope life has been good to you both.

Sincerely,
Megan Hulce
