Gary L. Alward

On November 13, 2022, we lost a good-hearted husband and a wonderful father. Gary, age 57, of St. Johns, MI, was born February 21, 1965. He treated everyone he met with respect and was always wanting to and willing to lend a helping hand.

He left five surviving children, Mary Anderson, Gary Alward, Angel Alward, Christopher Miller, Michael Thomas, and a deceased son Matthew Alward. He loved his stepchildren like they were his own. His grandson Dayton was everything to him; they were the best of “buddies.” To Dayton he was a hero. His papa was taken too soon from us. And all who met Gary were better for it. If you ever needed him he was there. Gary will always be remembered for his personality, hard work, and dedication to his family. His wife of 9 years and best friend of 20 years, Rebecca Alward, lost her soul mate and her heart that day. He is in Heaven with his mom Elsie Alward, his dad Kenneth Alward, and his grandma Reelda Alward. He also leaves behind his brother, Kenneth Alward.

Fly high Gary Alward. Now it is time for you to rest after everything you’ve done. You will be missed greatly, and will always be in our hearts and memories.

A private family service will be held. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
