Garry A. Sommer

Age 48, of Okemos, died unexpectedly on September 2, 2010. He was born February 26, 1962 in Muskegon, MI the son of Norman Sommer, Jr. and Mary (Johnson) Sommer.

Garry graduated from Lake Orion High School in 1980 and received his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University in 1986. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of twenty-five years, Candace (Walter) Sommer; sisters, Laura, Sandra, Susan, Deborah; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gordon and Sandra Walter; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with visitation a half hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.
