G. James “Jim” Fewless

G. James FewlessAge 73, passed away May 6, 2023.  He was born August 25, 1949, in Lansing, to Raymond and Helen Fewless.  Jim graduated from Gabriel’s High School and from Aquinas College.  He worked as an accountant for several companies, most recently at Spartan Irrigation.

Jim was a devoted husband, father, and “Bappa” and will be missed by:  his wife, Susan Mills; daughters, Sarah Mills and Katherine “Katie” (Steven) Wilcox; grandchildren, Jordan (Brian) Morton, Dominic (Kieu-Vi) Maynard, Nicholas Snyder, Maya Romankewiz, Ada Wilcox, Caleb Wilcox, and Elijah Wilcox; great-grandchildren, Joy Morton and Messiah Morton; sister, Marianne (K.C.) Liu; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Fewless and Nancy Derheimer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam and Chris Sinicropi, Rick and Anne Sigourney; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents and by brothers, Rodger and Garry Fewless.

Jim loved Notre Dame, keeping a pristine-looking yard, reading books, and listening to Jimmy Buffet. Most of all, he loved his family. His grandkids and great-grandkids were truly the apples of his eye, never missing an opportunity to be at a game or meet as their number #1 fan, a concert or recital, or even as the reliable transportation; he was a beloved Bappa above all else.

Jim’s family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 11,2023, with prayer and eulogies at 7:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, or to the charity of one’s choice, in memory of G. James Fewless.

Fewless family,
So sorry to hear about the passing of Jim. What a great guy. He was my dad’s bookkeeper and we had many nice visits with him over the years. He will surely be missed.
You all will be kept in our thoughts and prayers.

Jim was a great baseball player from 8th grade through his senior year. We played together on Westside Merchants. It was the only team we played together on that was undefeated. We also played basketball together on some of the best teams Gabriel’s had. Jimmy DiVietri

My condolences to Jim’s family. I am saddened to hear of his death. We were housemates for a time at Aquinas, and he was one of my best compadres during those four years. I miss him and May he rest in peace.

Sue, Sarah, & Katie,
Jim will always hold a special place in our hearts. We considered him as part of our family. We loved to drive past his house and admire his landscaping. We loved hearing him talk about his family. He loved you all, loved his grandkids and great grandkids. We will miss that wry smile.

I loved working for you, Fewley, at Recordland in the 1970s. You were kind, had a great laugh, and efficiently ran a business while allowing just the right amount of shenanigans and fun. A fond memory I have is applying your Kiss make-up with Dawn for our Halloween night at Recordland. Another great memory was surprising you by showing up at your door with Quigs in San Diego, when you thought you were getting a Fed-ex delivery. I’m so sorry to hear of your passing.
