Known for making everyone feel welcome, she made friends instantly. She enjoyed cooking for others and was known for her delicious desserts. Her children and grandchildren are the best testament to her loving, caring heart. Fross was an energetic, incredible, and humorous woman, who will be missed immensely.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Joseph K. Kanazeh. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children Mary (Rob) Russell, Nabil (Angela) Kanazeh, Shafeek (Kristen) Kanazeh; six grandchildren, Samara and Rhiana Russell, Khalil, Faris and Mallory Kanazeh, Elijah Kanazeh; sisters, Fadia (Yacoub) Bayouk, Lily (Ghassan) Kobty, Laudy (Mhanna) Badin, Wedad (Bishara) Jada; brothers-in-law, Ike (Diane) Kanazeh, George (Siham) Kanazeh, Souhail Kanazeh, Samir (Selena) Kanazeh, Anees Kanazeh; and 23 nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 27 from 1-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. with the Trisagion at 7:30 p.m. at Estes-Leadley Funeral Home, 325 W Washtenaw St, Lansing.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1701 E. Saginaw St, Lansing, with Father Mark Sietsema, Ph.D. presiding.  Livestream link. Our Angel in heaven FouFou. Thank you for being a light in our life. Although I’ve met you a handful of times, like your sisters you’ve only showered me with unconditional love and kisses, always welcoming my family and myself into your home. Your spirit and memory will never be forgotten! You raised amazing loving humans, and I’m grateful to have crossed paths with you! Watch over us from heaven.

A mother devoted to her family.
Her smile that would light up the room.
Her kindness that made everyone feel welcomed.
Her generosity had no bounds.
A rainbow now covers the gates of Heaven.
Today a host of angels sound the trumpet.
Our Lord, stands ready to welcome her home.
Her husband, Joe, of many years awaits
With open arms to embrace her.
Rest In Peace, a life time together, begins Today.

She is such a wonderful woman that is going to be missed by many!! I personally will miss seeing her smile and big hugs every time I saw her. She was also so thoughtful. After all these years of knowing her, many times she would still set aside a plate of her amazing S cookies for me. My thoughts and prayers will be with the family through this difficult time.

We are saddened to hear the very sad news that your beloved mother passed away. We know how much you love her and how much she means to everyone she knew. She has touched so many with her warm smile and sincere disposition. I know how much her illness affected your life and the lives of your immediate families.

The hardest part of your loss is the finality of it all but I know the memories you have of her will stay with you forever; I know you’ll find strength and determination in those memories that will inspire you when you need to be inspired.

It is very difficult to find the words to say how sorry we are and offer our deepest condolences.

Dear Fross,

I was shocked to see your name listed in the Lansing State Journal obituary section yesterday.

We have just seen each other at Meijers not long ago where we exchanged family news and caught up on what each of us was doing. You sounded optimistic and hopeful and looked your normal beautiful self. Now suddenly gone forever!

When I think of you, I see that kind, generous, open-minded, down to earth, unpretentious person and perfect hostess! You opened your home and your heart to family and friends alike and extended a helping hand and shared information whenever asked on matters you excelled in.

I will always be grateful to you, will terribly miss you but will never forget you.
Rest In Peace dear friend and May your Memory be eternal.

To Mary, Nabil and Shafeek,
My condolences and heart-felt sympathy are extended to you, your spouses and children at this most difficult time in your lives.
You mother’s loss leaves a vacuum no one can fill. My you all find comfort in the beautiful and loving memories she left behind.

God Bless you all.

From our family to yours our deepest condolences. Fross will be remembered fondly!

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
“Brothers and sisters,
we want you to know about people who have died so that you won’t mourn like others who don’t have any hope. Since we believe that Jesus died and rose, so we also believe that God will bring with Him those who have died in Jesus.”

God bless each of you and give you peace!
