Frieda L. Motcheck

Frieda L. Motcheck, age 95, of Lansing, MI, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Delta Retirement Center on December 5, 2018. She was born on November 26, 1923, in Lansing, to the late Berthold and Alwine (Gietzel) Gillert.

Frieda worked as a secretary at Oldsmobile and in the registration office at Lansing Community College. She volunteered for 38 years stopping only in October when her health wouldn’t allow her to continue and was honored in June 2018 by Sparrow Volunteer Services as Volunteer of the Month. She loved her family, her home, her community and was strong and secure in her faith. Her hobbies included gardening, needle crafts, jigsaw puzzles, coloring, playing games, baking Christmas cookies and being with people. She will be deeply missed.

Dear Karen and David and family, our hearts go out to you. May the Lord strengthen and encourage you, helping you through these difficult times. Mary (Black) Junttonen told me that your mother had been sick for a while and we rejoice that the Lord has called her home to Him. Praying for you from our home in Cuenca, Ecuador.

Dear Motcheck Family: We were saddened to learn the passing of Aunt Frieda. She will be missed. Caring about your sorrow and remembering you in prayer. May you find comfort in cherished memories and the eternal promise…that she has stepped onto the shore of heaven, greeted by Uncle George, and has been welcomed by the loving hand of God.

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. And the God of
all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have
suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm
and steadfast. Amen.”
1 Peter 5:7,10
