After returning to Lansing he held a few jobs until he was hired into Fisher Body of Lansing in 1963 where he would work until his retirement 42 years later in 2005. In 1963 he met the love of his life, Margaret Elefante, from Canton, Ohio; they were married in 1964 and she preceded him in death in 2009. Fred was a wonderful man and will be missed by all that ever knew him. He was a very giving person that never judged another, was always quick with a witty joke and loved to make people smile. He was an avid fan of Ohio State football, Frank Sinatra, Jazz, History, and old movies. We love you Dad, thanks for all your love, generosity, support, and commitment to family.
Funeral services and a memorial lunch/dinner will be held at a date and time in the near future to be determined. A notice will be posted in this obituary a week prior for those that would like to attend. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.
In lieu of flowers or donations the family asked that you donate in his name to Marines Toys for Tots or the Alzheimer’s Association.
