Frank F. Haley

Haley, Francis Frank photoLansing

Frank Haley was born December 31, 1927, in Mason, Michigan, to Thurman and Esther (Rood) Haley. He passed away August 6, 2017, in Lansing, Michigan, at age 89. Throughout his life, Frank beat the odds of his circumstances. From surviving his premature birth in 1927, to surviving a heart attack in his early 40s, to getting 27 years out of a 10-year coronary artery bypass, to surpassing the life span of his father (who died of heart disease in his 60s), to keeping his sense of humor and knowing his family while living with dementia the last 13 years.

Frank was a military veteran of WWII and the owner/operator of Frank’s Coin Laundry Service. He could build or repair anything. He loved his family, hunting, fishing, golf, and, in later years, chocolate.

He was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 62 years, Joan (Moffett) Haley; daughters, Debbie Huntley, Karen Colbry, and Kelly (David) Bandt; grandchildren, Matthew (Alissa) Bandt, Haley Bandt, Rudy Colbry, Cory Colbry; two great-grandchildren, Alivia and, soon-to-be Jackson Bandt; brother, Stanley Moore of Florida; and other extended family members. His parents and sister, Suzanne Emmons, predecease him.

Thank you to the staff at Medilodge of Capital Area for loving and caring for him as one of their own! There will be no services. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Capital Area Region. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at estesleadley.com/obituaries.

So sorry to hear about Frank. I used to play golf with Frank and my dad (Victor), many years ago. Frank was a good golfer and a very nice man. I enjoyed playing golf with him.
