Floyd Neal

Age 88, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on January 13, 2015. He was born on Oct. 4, 1926 the son of Forrest and Idella (Grunden) Neal on a farm in Mason, Michigan.  It was here that he learned the benefit of hard work and self sufficiency that served him so well throughout a life centered around his family and providing for them.

Following graduation from Lansing Eastern he joined the Marine Corps. During this period he met and married the love of his life Chiquita Lucas, she preceded him in death in 2002.  Floyd then enlisted in the United States Air Force retiring in 1971 after more than 20 years of service.

They had three children John (deceased), Rachelle and James. Floyd is also survived by his sister Martha Miller and four grandchildren Jacob (Jessica) and Ben Neal and David and Alexandra Souser.

Floyd will forever be remembered for his tremendous energy, the deep love of his family and to all of us that signature smile and little twinkle in his eyes that was always there for the ones he loved.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw, Lansing. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 16th from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour preceding the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan or Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (www.fallenpatriots.org).
