Faith A. Zalewski

Faith Ann Zalewski, age 67, of Holt, Michigan, passed away on October 20, 2022, with her son, Kyle, and significant other, Joe, by her side. Born August 28, 1955 in Lansing, Michigan, Faith was a graduate of Holt High School and continued her education by completing her degree at Michigan State University on a full academic scholarship.

A proud alumna of MSU, she further enjoyed crafting, sewing, and traveling to the northernmost parts of the Upper Peninsula for camping, kayaking, and skiing. She remained a voracious reader for the entirety of her life, taking breaks to cook phenomenal meals for friends and family gatherings, as well as local holiday events. She worked for over 40 years as a cashier and service coordinator before retiring from Meijer a few years ago. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Holt-Mason Chapter #3734.

She is survived by her mother, Nancy Zalewski (Underhill), of Hastings; brothers, Al and Mike (Sharon), both of Hastings; sister, Ruth (Jeff Lund), of Mason; son, Kyle Nabbefeld, of Lansing; and significant other Joe Young, of Lansing. She is also survived by several nieces, Rachael, Shelby, Hailey, Carmen, and Christy; and nephew, Dustin. Faith was preceded in death by her father, Ted “Pete” Zalewski, of Hastings.

A celebration will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 1-3 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 1111 N. Cedar St., Mason. All are welcome and encouraged to share memories.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be used to create educational accounts for young surviving family members. Please make checks payable to Merrill Lynch c/o Ruth Zalewski, 4480 Harper Rd., Mason, MI 48854.

 Cremation arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Funeral Homes.

I have such wonderful memories of you and I, and many other great MEIJER team members, working together for many, many years.

I’m so sorry for your loss, I have known Faith for so many years I have fond memories of all the weekends I spent at their house I was best friends with her sister Ruthie and her and I were in the same class together but I spent many many weekends at their home and I just have so many fond memories and so much fun spent in their home she will surely be missed and I’m sending all my love and prayers to the family I love you all.

Joe and Kyle, we are so very sorry for your loss. Faith loved you both fiercely as I know you did her as well. She was a wonderful neighbor and loyal friend. She will be missed by many. We are praying that God will grant you peace at this most difficult time.

Faith was a student of mine/ours at Holt High School…she was dutiful and very good student in class. Faith was also one of the many students that my wife and I took on a three week school exchange program visit to a gymnasium (high school) school in Munich, Germany.
What a great and personable young lady she was then and I am sure continued to be thoughout
her life. She was delightful…. and we were sad when we read of her passing.
