Evelyn M. “Sally” Harvey

Evelyn Marie “Sally” (Mall) Harvey was born to Harry and Marie (Jensen) Mall near Greenville, Michigan, on March 3, 1925, and passed away on January 15, 2019. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1943 and for a short time was employed at Gibson Refrigerator Company before coming to Lansing to attend Lansing Business University. She was employed by Michigan Brass & Electric from June 1944 until May 1993 and retired as credit manager. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. “Axe” Harvey, on July 13, 1979, and her brother, Jack Mall, on October 15, 1989.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Harvey of Montague; 4 grandchildren, Kim (Scott) Adams, Jim (Jenifer) Sleight, Seth (Jennifer) Harvey, and Noah (Crystal) Bates; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; nephew, Tom (Cathy) Mall of Rockford; nieces, Patricia Hubert of Bay City, and Carol Jean (Tom) O’Reilly of Charlotte, NC; and cousins, Betty Lindsey of Greenville, Jack (Donna) Jorgensen of Stanton, Margaret Shaw of Grand Ledge, and Lucille Jensen of Bloomfield Hills.

She was a member of Judson Memorial Baptist Church and had been affiliated with Alpha Iota Sorority, Al-Anon, Coping with Cancer, and served many years with the Salvation Army and Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

Religious services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019, at Judson Memorial Baptist Church, 530 Vernon St., Lansing, MI 48910. Burial will take place South Sidney Cemetery on Muskrat Rd. north east of Greenville. Visitation will be at Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw St., Lansing, MI, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Sally to Judson Memorial Baptist Church, or Salvation Army at 525 N. Pennsylvania, Lansing, MI 48912, or The City Rescue Mission at 2216 S. Cedar St., Lansing, MI 48910, or to the charity of your choice.

Our sincerest condolences to the entire family. Sally was well known for her selfless, kind and generous nature of giving her time to so many community volunteer and service groups. She’ll be missed by all the thousands of people she has helped over the years.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Sally and family. She introduced my mom and dad together and now they will be with each other again. May she rest in peace and enjoy God’s eternal love.
