Age 79, of Lansing, passed away surrounded by family on September 20, 2012. He was born May 6, 1933, in Lansing, to the late Karl and Sofie Wildeman. He will be greatly missed.
Blessed with a great sense of humor, Ernie inspired those near him to laugh. He was a Korean War veteran, a member of Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, and worked for many years at the A & P as a produce manager. He was an avid fisherman and a Purple Martin enthusiast with many good friends at the Tubbs Lake Resort.
He is survived by his brother, Alfred (Donna) Wildeman; sister, Dorothy (Max) Wehr; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Lareau.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012, at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing, with Pastor Paul J. Lindloff officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Sparrow Hospice Services.
