Eric D. Briggs

Eric D. Briggs, age 49, of Lansing, MI, passed away May 9, 2023. He was born October 1, 1973, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, to his adoring mother Katenna Briggs. He was the youngest of five children. At a young age, they moved to Lansing, Michigan, where Eric spent his remaining life.

Eric lived a life full of excitement with his family and friends. He loved and cherished everyone who was blessed to know him.

Eric was preceded in death by his grandfather, Julious Briggs; grandmother, Clara Mae Briggs; and his big sister, Sophia Cole.

Eric leaves behind his loving and caring mother, Katenna Briggs of Lansing; his father, Charles Barrett of Portsmouth, VA; his daughter, Breana Harden (husband Jamal Harden) of Lansing; his two sons, Jaylen Briggs of Lansing and Eric Briggs Jr. of Port Huron; brother Derrick Briggs and sister Kristina Briggs both of Lansing; his grandchildren, Myah, Baylee, Zaelyn, Jurnee, Amari, and another grandson on the way; and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends that he loved dearly.

Eric will be missed; but his laughter and love will live on forever through those he touched.

A memorial visitation will be held from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
