Elsie was a delightful surprise to me in many ways. She demonstrated smarts and strength answering trivia questions or rearranging her room furniture on a whim. She showed a gleeful sense of humor as she held brief conversations or reminisced about her youth. I learned to appreciate the simple joys of life like eating peanut butter & jelly sandwiches or feeling the sunshine on my face from my friend, Elsie.
