Edwin B. Peterson
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Edwin “Ed” Berger Peterson (age 71) on April 11, 2026, from sepsis. He had a humorous personality, touched countless lives, and is leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and kindness. He was born in Lansing, Michigan, and was a resident of Lansing his entire life. He attended Everett High School and made his way through life with a strong work ethic, retiring from Bioport Solutions in the training department at age 58. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and skiing with his family and life-long friends. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and an adoring grandfather, loved dearly by each one of them. Everyone that came into contact with Ed remembered him and his dynamic personality. He was dedicated to serving Christ, singing in the choir at Trinity Lutheran church, playing in the bell choir, serving as the church treasurer, and was president of the “Trinity Lutheran Foundation.”
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Bernice Peterson, and his brothers, Jim and Allen Peterson. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; his children, Casey (Joe) Childs and Lindsey (Erich) Slivensky; his grandchildren, Amelia and Lily; and his siblings, Diane (Bob) Dowding, Carol Peterson, and Dick (Nadine) Peterson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 W. Saginaw St., Lansing, MI 48933, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with a light lunch afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Ed’s memory to Trinity Lutheran Bell Fund to restore the church bell. Please send donations to Trinity Lutheran Church at the address listed above.
Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

April 14, 2026 at 12:03 pmI am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Ed was a wonderful person and will be missed. I can remember clearly the first time that I met him during our time working together years ago in Mason, MI. Even after leaving that company we remained friends and talked on a regular basis. I will miss have a “beer” with him as we discussed various topics. I was fortunate to have known him.
Sincerely, Scott Evans

April 15, 2026 at 6:47 amWe are so sorry to hear of Ed’s passing. My husband and I have known Ed for years through golf and we always enjoyed visiting and joking with him on and off the course. We especially enjoyed seeing Ed and his siblings enjoying a round of golf together, most recently at Eagle View golf course. Ed always had an upbeat personality and gave the best hugs. A giant man in a small package.
Peace, love and comfort,
Ed and Sandy Liddle
