Ednah C. “Edie” Copenhaver
Edie, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, MA, formerly of Lansing, MI, passed away April 13, 2018, following a brief illness. She was the beloved daughter of the late C. Colton and Roxiemargaret (Dalton) Carr.
Born and raised in Lansing, MI, Edie attended St. Mary Cathedral School and was a graduate of Central Michigan University, where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.
Edie was the co-owner of Gentle Arms Daily Transportation in Chelmsford. She was the past president of the Merrimack Valley Chorale, a member of the American Arbitration Association, and served as a Town Meeting Representative in Chelmsford for 10 years. She was also a member of the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks Lodge 2310 and an avid bridge player.
She is survived by her close friend Ann B. McGuigan of Chelmsford, MA; her sister in-law, Dorothy Edes and her husband Wayne N. Edes, Sr. of Kennebunk, ME; her nephews, Wayne N. Edes, Jr. of Leominster, MA and William N. Edes of Kennebunk, ME. She is also survived by her two great-nephews and three great-nieces.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018, at St. Mary Cathedral, Lansing. The Rite of Committal will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens, Lansing.
