Ed Haynes, Jr.
Age 73, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026. He was born August 27, 1952, in Lansing, Michigan to Edward, Sr. and Euna Mae (Melton) Haynes.
Ed graduated from J.W. Sexton high school in 1971. He retired from the food service industry, working in the cafeterias of government buildings. Ed was a member of Community Baptist Church. He was an avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching Michigan State football, basketball and going to Detroit to watch the Tigers play. Ed also liked to listen to his records.
He is survived by his sister, Cynthia Haynes. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2026, at Community Baptist Church, 7832 W. Mt. Hope Hwy., Grand Ledge, MI 48837. Private interment will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. His family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Baptist Church.
Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel
