Earl Burgering

 

Age 93 passed away in Lansing on November 20, 2018. He was born April 10, 1925 in Kalamazoo to the late William and Frieda (Groothuis) Burgering.

Earl was raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, was a proud WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp.  He was a graduate of the University of Michigan where he enjoyed being in the marching band. Earl was a charter member of Immanuel Community Reformed Church.

He worked for the State of Michigan, retiring after 30 plus years of service.

Earl is survived by his children: Marcia Burgering, David (Pamela) Burgering, and Drew (Linda) Burgering; grandchildren: Chris (Sandra) Mantilla, Alexandra (Jean Paul) van Romondt, Kyle and Kelbi Burgering; great grandchildren: Ethan, Ava, Owen, and Olivia. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley M. Burgering.

The funeral for Earl Burgering will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Immanuel Community Reformed Church, 3200 Delta River Dr., Lansing, MI 48906. Visitation will be Saturday 9:30 a.m. until service time. Memorial donations may be made to Immanuel Community Reformed Church. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
