We weren’t so close these days but I have memories. All of us piled into that boat because a storm was coming. We got pulled over on the water and got a ticket? If my memory serves me well. Driving up to Traverse City in a blizzard. All of us kids Playing battling Tops with you and my dad. You’ve gone home Uncle Doug. We will see you again. Much love. Sue.

When we moved in to our home 21 years ago, not knowing anyone in the area, you and Doug welcomed us to the neighborhood. We always knew who to call if we needed anything, or just wanted to hang out and chat. You two became part of our family. We will miss seeing Doug’s smiling face, but have so many happy memories to hold close to our hearts. Mary, we are here for you…..always. With all our love ~ Peggy, Mark, Maddie, & David Allen

I met Doug 30+ years ago when he worked for Speaker HInes and Thomas! He was wonderful to do business with and taught me a lot about the industry that he loved! What a wonderful man and an incredible Spartan fan! Peace and hugs to Mary and the family.

It was scouting that brought Doug and I together. Working with him on many woodbadge courses, commissioner service and council board are treasured memories. Mary, it’s our prayer that Gods grace will be sufficient for you and your family in this time of grief. Dean & Carleen Peters
