Donna J. Holmes

Age 89, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2017.  Donna was born December 2, 1927, in Lansing, Michigan, to Gladys and Irving Holmes.  Donna was a lifelong resident of Lansing’s Old Town.  She was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School.  Donna worked for Michigan Bell for 34 years until she retired.

Donna enjoyed shopping with friends, gardening, baking, bird watching, reading, traveling and playing with her cat Tiger.  Donna was preceded in death by her parents.  Donna is survived by her cousin Gerilyn DeSmith and many close lifelong friends she made while working at Bell Telephone. A special thank you to staff and residents at Rosewood Adult Foster Care in Dewitt Michigan and also to The Care Team Staff who took such great care of Donna.

The funeral service for Donna Holmes will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.  Visitation will be one prior to the start of service.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Donna’s name to Rosewood Adult Foster Care at 1070 W.
