Donald Duane Stoner Sr., 72, of Shepherd, Michigan, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the Willows of East Lansing.
Donald was born February 23, 1945, in St. Louis, Michigan, to Elvin and Bertha Stoner. He graduated from St. Louis High School in 1963. On June 5, 1965, he married the former Ella Louise Robinson in Midland, Michigan. From 1968 to 1970 he served in the Army, served in Vietnam as a Medivac. Don was employed in shipping and receiving at Dow Chemical Company for 32 years. He was an avid hunter, an activity he enjoyed with all his family. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his wife, Ella, of East Lansing, MI; daughter, Lori Jo Stoner of Midland, MI; two sons, Kevin Lee (Rebecca) Stoner of East Lansing, MI and Donald Duane Stoner Jr. of Midland, MI; six grandchildren, Thaddeus, Xavier, Gabriel, Calliope, Katya, and Kevin Jr.; sister, Peggy Winwright of Howard City, MI; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Bertha, and his brothers Alan Stoner and Kim Stoner.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, January 19th at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw St., Lansing, MI 48933.
