We took road trips, bus trips, played dominoes & cards, laughed & laughed & laughed. Dolores was a strong woman with a generous, loyal, loving heart. We will miss her greatly. Our love & prayers for all of her family. No one loved her family more than Dolores did. You meant the world to her. RIP dear, sweet friend. We hope to catch up with you & Norma in Heaven. I just saw her recently at ACE hardware, where I work and we reminisced about when I worked with her in the HHS office. She was a very sweet lady. I’m very sorry for your loss.

I was so sad when I heard that Deloris had passed. I want to offer my love and prayers to her family. Deloris was one special lady. To me she was the first person I met at Holt High School. She was there when I interviewed for my job and when I first started at Holt. She was my “big city” mom. She guided a young farm boy from small town northern Michigan around the “big city”. She was always there to support and help me in any way she could. We shared a lot of laughs at the dumb things I did when I first started out. I can remember the big hug I got when I told her I was getting married and the stern tone she gave me when she found out Jann and I were having our first child. She was very mad I had not told her sooner. I remember her coming and getting me in the lounge to take a phone call when my son was about to be born a month early. She said I had a call I should take in the office and not have it transferred to the lounge. She looked so worried but also was so supportive. I got a huge hug before I left for the hospital.

Her family was her life. I enjoyed seeing many pictures of her kids and grandkids. She would share stories about what was going on in their lives and who was doing what. I have to admit I had trouble keep them all straight in my mind.

It is with a very sad heart that I write this note to you. I have no way of telling you what Deloris meant to me over all the years at Holt. I wish I had found out about her passing sooner so I could have come to the funeral and talked to you in person. I just want to thank you for sharing your mother or grandmother with me. She had a huge impact on my life.

May God keep her and hold her close to his heart.
Mike
