Diane Lynne Dyer
Lansing, Michigan
If tears could be a stairway and memories a lane, we would walk right up to heaven and bring you back again. It is with much sadness that we share that Diane Lynne Dyer, loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan.
Diane was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, on April 24, 1963, to Kenneth and Linda Dyer. After a short 62 years on earth she went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after suffering with several health issues in recent years. She was a 1981 graduate of Bath High School and attended Lansing Community College before joining the family business, Gift and Bible Center and Diane’s Hallmark Shop in Lansing. Her love of people, hard work ethic, and service was key to the store’s longevity. You would often find her helping the elderly picking out that perfect card, or a mom needing help to find that perfect book. She loved helping others!
Most of Diane’s life was filled with her love of the Michigan State Spartans. A highlight was watching her niece Sarah and nephew Ryan march in the Spartan Marching Band. She simply adored them and loved spending time together, especially at the family cottage on Gun Lake. So many cherished memories filled with Florida trips, game days, boat rides, bonfires and sunsets.
Diane had a strong faith in God built on years growing up in church. From the Awana program at Northland Baptist Church Grand Rapids to Sunday School, youth groups and adult fellowships at South Baptist Church Lansing. She loved building her faith in God.
Surviving family are her loving parents, Ken and Linda Dyer of Lansing; her only sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Rick Metcalf of Okemos; and her most cherished niece, Sarah Metcalf and adoring nephew Ryan Metcalf of Okemos, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Our hearts ache in sadness that you are gone. You will always be cherished and remembered in our hearts forever. Until we meet again in heaven.
A private graveside service will take place on July 3, 2025, at Bailey Cemetery (Vergennes Township) in Lowell, Michigan.
Memorial contributions can be made to the City Rescue Mission of Lansing.
Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

June 26, 2025 at 5:46 pmSincere condolences on the loss of Diane. Although I never met my birth cousin Diane, I am saddened to hear she passed too young. Reminds me life is too short. Remember that tornado in Perry in August 1978? Our home was totalled. That’s when I was living really close to you all. Time flies. I recently lost a first cousin in Grand Haven, too, I barely knew. Sorry for your tremendous loss!
