Deon Lee Parker

Lansing, Michigan

Born April 5, 1964, in Lansing, Michigan son of the late Donald and Judy (Melius) Parker passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at the age of 60.

Deon is survived by his wife of 38 years, Terri Parker; their children, Sam (Eric Poore) Parker, DeDe Parker, Cameron “Boy” (Melissa Hatfield) Parker; grandchildren, Bug, Ana, Abby, Lucy, Logan, Scarlet, Carter, Viley, Cole, and Libby; great grandson, Azul; siblings, Gerry Lynn Puente, Shiree VanBlarcom, Shane Matthew (Cindy) Parker, Tierre Zietz, and Brandon Anderson; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, especially Jess, Gary, and AJ for all their help over the years; father-in-law, Jerald Sumerix, for being his partner in crime; special friend whom got him into racing, King Kramer; his two dogs, Ralph, whom he loved, and Trouble, whom he tolerated and the family believes outlived Deon out of spite!

Deon enjoyed racing at Spartan Speedway in Mason and was known as “Neon Deon Parker 8-Ball”.  He drove tow truck for years for American Towing.  His “hobby” was helping anyone with anything.  He was a jack-of-all-trades and a true handyman for his family and friends.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Was the best mechanic I’ve ever seen he forgot more than most knew when it came to trucks. He was a great family man and and a great friend. We could talk every day or once year and it was like you were with him yesterday. You will be greatly missed. RIP my friend.

My childhood morning walks to school to get Dede and go on about our day. Every morning “hey ugly” how’s your day ugly” I hear his voice. Man the childhood memories of hearing him throughout the neighborhood and from the upstairs in the house playing. I love you old man. You will be missed

Deon, I remember how much fun we had riding our bikes down the big hill in the snow every winter, helping you deliver your newspaper route, watching the stock car races at Crystal Lake, all the drinking, and I’ll miss you. So long Deon

I will NEVER forget the first time I met Deon. He had me laughing from the get go. He said exactly what he thought, and I loved it. He was a perfect mix of caring and pure honesty. He will truly be missed.
