Delores Lucille Carlson
Delores received her Heavenly healing October 29, 2021, at the age of 90. No more walkers, pain patches or hearing aides to deal with.
Delores Lucille Hanford, was born October 11, 1931, to Earl and Alida Hanford, in Lansing, Michigan. Delores had 3 siblings, Virginia, Ted and Janet; all have preceded her in death. She was married to Arthur E. Carlson, December 27, 1947. They were married 47 years prior to his death. Delores enjoyed the love and admiration of her four children, Sandra (Ron) Gates of Lansing, Michigan, Donald (Ellen) Carlson of Shepherd, Michigan, Nancy (Jim) Bullock of Texas and Marlene (Ed) Walters of Missouri. She so enjoyed her six grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and she was able to meet 2 great-great-grandchildren on her final winter visit in Texas.
Delores came to the saving grace of the Lord when she was visited by faithful members of Calvary Baptist Church, Webberville, Michigan, in the mid ’50s. She was also a faithful member of Millett Bible Church, and currently was a member of South Church of The Nazarene, Lansing, Michigan.
After raising her own children Delores entered the workforce at USF&G Insurance alongside two of her daughters. Upon retirement she opened her home to care for children whose parents both worked and followed many through their college years and beyond.
Delores loved music, socializing dancing and enjoyed putting together that perfect puzzle, no matter how challenging.
Delores and Art were able to take their dream trip driving from Michigan to Alaska, with great friends. They are now joined on their final trip together that “We Can Only Imagine.”
A graveside service will be held at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at East Lawn Memory Gardens, Okemos. Her family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions, in loving memory of Delores, may be made to Youth Haven Ranch or McLaren Hospice.
