Delora Vena Carlson

Age 97 of Lansing, passed away, October 8, 2025. She was born, August 29, 1928, in Lansing to the late Avery and Ruth (Hause) Waite.

Delora had many passions which included sewing, gardening, going to garage sales and thrift stores, camping trips, and winter trips to Florida with her husband Victor. She and Victor also loved their dates to A&W and Wendy’s. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and never wanted to be away from her grandkids for too long.

Delora is survived by her children: Sharon (Jim) Doerr and Gary (Ann) Carlson; grandchildren: Ashley (Tom) Butcher, Amanda (John) Queen and Jason Carlson; great grandchildren: Brady Butcher, Camden Butcher, Jack Butcher and Jameson Queen; and special cousin Dorna Christenson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 56 years Victor Carlson, brothers: Rex Waite, Robert Waite and Don Waite.

The funeral for Delora will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, 2121 Cedar St., Holt, MI 48842, interment will follow in Glendale Cemetery, Okemos. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the funeral on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Optimal Care Hospice.
