Della A. Garza
Age 81, passed away March 20, 2025. She was born February 8, 1944, in Moore, Texas, to Augustine and Herminia Duncan. Della worked at Motor Wheel Corporation for 10 years, where her work ethic and attention to detail was seen. She was a longtime member of Mt. Hope Church. Della loved gardening and cooking for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eleasar Garza, Sr.; her son, Eleasar Garza, Jr.; her brother, Dave Duncan, and by her parents. Surviving are: children, Valerie Garza, Elliott Garza, and Rodney (Penny) Garza; grandchildren, Jeremiah (Yolanda) Needham, Joshua Needham, Dennis Wilcox, Melissa (Kyle) Walch, Jillian (Chris) Taylor, and Hannah Garza; great-grandchildren, Nina, Amazing, Penelope, Cyrrin, Genavieve, and Liam. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Carson, Esther Garza, Rebecca Hart, and Lydia (Tom) Young; and her brother, Sam (Sally) Duncan.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Mt. Hope Church, 202 S. Creyts Road, Lansing. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw St., Lansing. A committal service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI.
