Debra Sue “Deb” (Schultz) Dodge

Age 63, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on September 19, 2024. Born on June 12, 1961, in Lansing, Deb was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Dodge and Ashly (Michael) O’Brien; her cherished grandchildren, Noah (17), Addison (9), and Hazel (5); and her mother, Gloria Schultz. Deb is also remembered by her siblings, Sheryl (Joseph) Dionise, Patricia (Raymond) Gedeon, and Michael Schultz, well as special nephews, Joseph (Christina) Gedeon and Nicholas Dionise, along with many other loved ones. She was a dedicated employee of Neogen Corp. for 25 years where she made a great impact on everyone who walked through the door.

She has left this world for a more peaceful and gentle one. She loved big, she loved hard, and she loved everyone so deeply. The ripples of her love will be felt far and wide for many, many years to come. Her family and friends brought her so much endless joy. She reminded us all the time of how lucky we are, how lucky to have our health, loved ones surrounding us, and each other. We were so blessed to not have sickness or darkness shadow over our family for so long. She would take the sickness from us all, all the pain, and worry and shoulder that rather than see those she loved suffer. She was one of a kind and her voice will always echo in our mind. I know that as we go through this life without her physically being here, her words and presence always will be with us. We love you endlessly sweet mama and we will hold you close to our hearts until we meet again.

Deb was preceded in death by her father, Larry Schultz.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw St., Lansing. Her family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 1:00 p.m.

If you would like to make a donation in memory of Deb, one can be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation (lymphoma.org).

Deb’s warm spirit and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

I am incredibly sadden upon hearing of Debs passing. I adored her and treasured the 20 years we worked together at Neogen. A fantastic receptionist that always brightened my day with her sassy sense of humor. I will miss her greatly.

I am so sorry to hear of Debras passing. It was a pleasure being her nurse when she was on 5 west with us. I really enjoyed getting to know her and coming in her room and chit chatting/laughing with you guys!! She was an amazing lady with an infectious personality and she loved you (Ashley and Jennifer) so much! Thinking of you both, your kids, and the rest of your family during this difficult time. She will be greatly missed!

Deb was always a ray of sunshine, I remember when she came to work for me at Neogen. Deb was very proud of her family and always loved to talk about what was happening with them. We always had a good time and enjoyed working together in HR. The world will be a little less bright without her in it. I will keep your family in my prayers.
