Deborah Lee Dalton

Deborah died peacefully on August 16, 2022, in Lansing, MI at the age of 65. She is survived by her four children; Jennifer, Christina (Christopher) Gioia, Joshua (Ashleigh), and Cassandra; father, James Walter Kzeski; brother and sisters, Michael Kzeski, Tamara Hachem and her husband Imad Hachem, and Melissa Rai; and grandsons, Christian Dalton, James Gioia, and Nathan Dalton. Deborah was also exceptionally close to her nephews, Karan Rai, and Matthew Hachem.

Deborah was born on January 5, 1957, at Saint Lawrence Hospital in Lansing, Michigan, to Judith and James Kzeski. She graduated from Sexton High School and briefly attended Western Michigan University, graduating with a Nursing Degree from Lansing Community College.

Deborah met her lifetime partner and husband Thomas Dalton on December 10, 1977. They were happily married for 43 years. Deborah and Thomas welcomed four children into their home. As a wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Deborah was a woman of love, integrity, respect, wholeheartedness, and enthusiasm for family. Deborah’s since of humor and joy for being silly and fun is what made her stand apart from everyone else and what made people take to her so easily.

Deborah was a dedicated and respected member at Plymouth Congregational Church for over 30 years. She was involved with the Plymouth Choir, a Sunday school teacher, and enjoyed teaching dance aerobics at the church.

Deborah will be remembered as a loving, friendly, kind-hearted and an all-around wonderful woman who always put family first. It is her love, warm smile and infectious laugh that will be missed dearly. Nonetheless, Deborah now has a place in Heaven and is reunited with her grandparents, mother, and friends. She now joins her husband and lifetime partner, Thomas in heaven, and both are angles watching over their loving children and grandchildren.  May God rest her soul and always remember our love for her.

A family celebration will be held.

Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

My sincere condolences go out to the Dalton family. I had the pleasure of getting to know this lovely family through my many years of teaching in the Waverly Schools. Debra always made me feel appreciated and loved as a teacher of her children. The last time I saw her (a few short weeks ago) she congratulated me on my retirement and wished me the best. My prayers of comfort are extended to this family during this difficult time. May the Lord bless you and keep you today and always.

Sending prayers to Casandra and all the Dalton Family. Deborah was always smiling and waving when we passed each other and always asked how life was going etc. Very Sad to hear sad news of her passing. She really cared about others. We met each other years back at Waverly Schools. May God bless her and her family in the days ahead. Sincerely our condolences.

My sincerest condolences to the Dalton family. I worked with Deb at RCC. She was a beloved nurse and caregiver to all of the clients. In the short time we worked together, I got to know her family through all the conversations we had. I’m so very sorry for your loss. Rest in heaven with your life mate Deb. We’ll miss you. Nikole

What a shock and a loss of a great friend and so soon after Tom’s death. Debbie was always so happy when we were around her and she was fun to be around. She was a good friend of 52 years. We will miss her and Tom sorely. We are so sorry for the family. We will miss her always. Richard and Kim.

I always said Debbie inherited my friendship as she was a lifelong friend of my husband Richard. She embraced me into her family circle and I was forever changed by her generosity of spirit. She had an uncanny and sincere way of making you feel like a rock star no matter the reason. She was the cheerleader and boosted everyone up by her loving and complimentary words of friendship. I too will miss you, and will greet you with open arms when we meet again.
In the meantime we love and miss you!

Debbie was my parents best friend and she was like family to me. She lit up any room with her infectious laugh and kind spirit. She was an absolute joy to be around and had the ability to make any person she was speaking with feel like a million bucks. She was always happy for others, a truly rare quality. She will be so missed here earth side. Until we meet again. Sending love to all who are aching and missing her here with us.
