February 20, 2026 at 9:56 pmI never had the chance to know Darren personally but every morning he alway offered a smile! He had the brightness of a man 2x as big as he was and I can only imagine the light he brought to all those who knew him. He will be missed.

February 25, 2026 at 5:13 pmI am so sorry to hear of Darren’s passing. I was his mail lady for years at Waverly park. I used to joke with him that all the books he would get was my work out for the day. I hadn’t seen him in a while and his mailbox was getting full, so I researched his name. He was always smiling and a great guy! My condolences to the family.

February 26, 2026 at 7:01 amDear Best friend, my brother you will truly be missed. As the tears fill my eyes all I can see is your smiling face. Remembering your words, as they hit me like a ton of bricks, Your jokes were ultimately hilarious, so hard we couldn’t stop laughing. All the basketball games we played (in the snow) . We love you brother, fly high!

February 26, 2026 at 3:42 pmHi Darren, I am really sad to hear you are no longer with us. Your laughter was the kind that creates or makes others laugh even when you are not around. I love how when you became inspired by something, you actually tried to do it. Even if that meant failing, you still had the courage to try. You had the biggest heart and was not afraid to say what was on your mind. I appreciate being able to have known you as long as I did. The Smith-Brinkley Family loves you. Tell my mother I said hello!!!
